A portion of the proceeds from the Spring Plant Sale will benefit the renovation of the Shabbona Park Playground.  The Swings for Shabbona Fundraising campaign’s main purpose is to raise funds to improve the current playground which received an “F” on the 2011 Playground Safety Survey conducted by Friends of the Parks and the Injury Free Coalition for Kids of Chicago of Children’s Memorial Hospital.  SHABBONA PARK CARES is a nonprofit community group working to raise money to fully renovate the outdated and unsafe playground. The current playground equipment is 28 years old!
